Infotainment

The automobile is designed for the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of its driver and passengers. Infotainment systems are high-demand items in today’s cars and Luxoft provides advanced solutions for integrated, in-vehicle information and entertainment.

From the safety benefits of geo-positioning, navigational information, and mobile device connectivity; to the comfort and enjoyment of rear-seat entertainment; Luxoft provides automotive infotainment solutions that meet and exceed consumer demand.

Internet browsing

The internet has become the primary source for all of information required to live in today’s world. Accessibility to the internet is becoming an essential in-vehicle capability, not only for news and entertainment, but for the critical information needed for navigation, remote diagnostics, traffic and road conditions.

Luxoft offers in-vehicle internet solutions that go beyond simply porting a browser to the head unit. Our solutions allow the driver and passengers to use the internet safely and effectively for both information and entertainment. Luxoft converts a car into a fully functioning internet device that opens doors into the real and virtual worlds.

For automotive industry clients, Luxoft implements online navigation functions, supplies research on inter-automobile social networks, and provides remote diagnostic and user support via dealership or manufacturer centers.

Luxoft offers solutions for internet data transfer via narrow channels: GSM/CDMA, HSDPA, and UMTS. We use our experience in telecommunications to offer solutions for voice and video data transfers for technical purposes (safety, black box functions, and video recording), as well as for the enjoyment of the user. And, of course, we’re always happy to provide solutions that help our partners execute their ideas.

Telephony

Luxoft can equip any vehicle with GSM or CDMA phones and 3G data modems to establish voice and data connectivity. We install low-level drivers for NAD modules from various vendors, provide support for a variety of voice and data connection protocols, and develop applications that bring telephony features to the end user, including active research into solutions for VDP video transfers.

One important segment of our telephony services is developing Bluetooth-based connections for consumer electronics. Luxoft’s advanced expertise with Bluetooth enables us to support multiple profiles, such as HFP, A2DP/AVRCP, HSP and DUN, and to create solutions that employ other Bluetooth services such as multimedia playback and network access.

Luxoft’s R&D team gives the automotive industry advanced IT solutions for in-vehicle telephony using technologies such as VoIP, Bluetooth, and video-telephony.

In-vehicle communications

People today want easy, online access to information and entertainment, driving the demand for a variety of in-vehicle communication gadgets such as wireless displays, remote TV adapters, PDA devices, game consoles, and laptops. Today’s drivers and passengers want vehicles with a multimedia environment.

But how can these different devices be effectively linked together in an automobile? Luxoft knows how and is able to help you build the in-vehicle multimedia environment that consumers demand. We now offer Mobile Infotainment Protocol for Remote Accessories Communication (MIPRAC) services.

MIPRAC connects wireless devices to a host device (a Head Unit or Gateway) to integrate them into the vehicle’s multimedia system. Portable devices can then communicate with the speakers, telephony, AM/FM tuner, amplifier and other devices installed in your vehicle. Depending upon the multimedia capabilities in the vehicle, the host network will provide a variety of different functions.

Luxoft’s MIPRAC solutions make the communication between the host device and remote accessories possible. This protocol works over almost any type of wireless network and provides a uniform method to connect remote accessories with a host device.

Inter-car communication

Inter-car communications is one of the most rapidly growing areas of automotive software technologies. Short-range communication technologies that use GPS and Wi-Fi provide enormous potential for applications that share data between specific vehicles.

Luxoft has adapted online communication technologies to the realities of car ergonomics. We have developed client messaging, mobile office applications and car-to-car social networking with automotive-grade safety and convenience capabilities. Luxoft uses specially designed HMI, voice recognition and speech synthesis technologies to bring these features to the car, with minimum risk for road safety.

Additionally, Luxoft is developing inter-car solutions using ZigBee and Wi-Fi for short-range communications between the cars and the road infrastructure, i.e., gas stations, active signage, and geo labels.
