Executive Summary

Luxoft’s research analyzes two groups of build management software: build scripting engines and build management tools. Build scripting engines (BSE) can be used stand alone for organizing build process and managing the complexity of building software programs from many source files and library components. Build management tools (BMT) improve productivity for software builds by providing more functionality than BSE products provide. Evaluation criteria applied in the research are scripting options, collaboration with third-party applications, extensibility options and price.
