Agile Engagement
How to Begin a New Agile Project With Luxoft
When using the Agile methodology for new software development, it is imperative to the project’s success that the appropriate working environment be created and maintained. Time and the chosen method for construction combined with stakeholder engagement and a collaborative approach is also important in building the necessary teamwork and trust in Agile projects.
To form long-lasting and productive relationships with our customers, we have developed an engagement model, consisting of three basic stages:
Engage
At Luxoft, new Agile engagements always start with the following:
- Hiring of a small team (3-5 people), which is closely integrated with the customer team.
- Organization of necessary project infrastructure and timeframes.
- Immediate training and coaching of the team for a fast and effective start.
Building Trust
We build mutual trust with our customers in order to deliver optimal results. We accomplish this mainly by:
Forming of high-grade cross-functional teams of approximately 7 Luxoft representative, give or take. Team members each possess strong domain experience as well as advanced engineering knowledge and work at a steady, yet high velocity pace.
Assigning a local proxy Product Owner to each customer account to provide the most effective, open, and real-time communication possible. Also Luxoft is ready to setup local proxy for ideal alignment to client’s model.
Grow and Scale
Upon gaining customer trust, we are able to grow and adapt to the project goals with efficiency and ease. We do this by:
- Focusing on product-centric development.
- Forming teams with excellent domain and product knowledge.
- Growing the number of co-located and multi-site teams.
- Implementing Scale Scrum Practices such as joint meetings, Scrum of Scrum). Etc.
With Agile, teams own the process and work collaboratively in a culture of regular and open communications. Operational transparency, combined with early and frequent progress updates, keep Agile practitioners in full control of the project, including adjustments to the project scope as needed.
