In June 2015, Excelian together with Luxoft began a partnership with Bottomless Closet. The New York based organisation's main focus is to offer an innovative approach to workforce preparation for disadvantaged women. Since its creation in 1999, Bottomless Closet has assisted 25000 women transition into employment. The organisation's personalised approach to workforce preparation provides clients with interview attire, one-on-one résumé preparation, mock interviews, as well as workshops on professional development, financial management and personal enrichment.

Last month saw Excelian kick-off their partnership with Bottomless closet by organising and hosting a career day at our New York offices. The event began with a round table of introductions between the clients, Excelian and Luxoft. This was followed by discussions about what we do as company and the industry we work in, with clients wanting to know what we look for in potential candidates. Representatives from Excelian Staffing then held a résumé techniques presentation and answered questions raised by the clients which covered topics such as: What makes a good and a bad résumé?, How to structure a résumé? and What to include in a cover letter?. The day ended with a number of mock interviews, as well as résumé feedback and review sessions.

The large success of the event can be thanked to chief organiser, Tinashe Shata, and our highly dedicated team members - Neil Gourlay, Natasha Ziabkina, Patrick De Guzman, Louis Nunez, Alicia Carapiet and Anna Timko.

We hope this event marks the beginning of a long and fruitful partnership with Bottomless Closet.
