Excelian’s Graduate Programme of 2012 is quickly approaching the end and everyone is getting excited about which projects or further training they will be a part of. However, the focus still remains on the intense but very enjoyable learning process.

Last Monday all the graduates had to present to senior management at Excelian on a financial markets or commodities topic of their choice. I believe the biggest challenge for all of us was to make the presentation interesting and engaging for people who have been in the industry for many years – a true test to anyone’s presentation skills. On the other hand, it felt amazing to realise how much we have learnt in the last 2 months. Not only we could answer challenging questions asked by the senior managers but also stand up and present with great confidence and interest in the subject.

The rest of the week we spent learning SQL, another programming language. Coming from Economics background it was completely new to me but I found it easy to understand and will definitely be using it when on projects. To sum up, I am enjoying this process immensely and look forward to what’s coming up next!
