Since Excelian’s founding in 2001, Excelian has believed in the importance of ‘giving something back to society’. The company has worked with many charities over the past fifteen years, and this will be the second time that Excelian has joined DEBRA to help the fight against EB. Excelian’s Founder, Adrian Marshall, commented “EB is probably the worst disease you’ve never heard of, so I’m thrilled that, once again, Excelian will participate in a variety of fundraising and volunteering events, from traditional running and cycling activities, to more unusual events such as dragon boat racing, human table football, bake-offs and wine tasting to support such an important cause.”
The fundraising team at Excelian is off to a great start, having already raised over £14,000 for DEBRA. This means Excelian is well on its way to hitting the £25,000 target for the year. The largest contributor to this total so far has been the 12th annual DEBRA Fight Night, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Excelian took 20 people to a fabulous evening of fine-dining, world-class boxing and an auctioning of unique goods and raised over £7000.
Excelian also ran its Christmas charity initiative for the third year in a row. Rather than buying traditional Christmas gifts, Excelian asked clients to select a charity of their choice to which a donation was paid, in their name. As a result of this year’s appeal, Excelian raised a total of £5,375 on behalf of DEBRA, in addition to a number of notable contributions towards the OXFAM Refugee Crisis Appeal and other client-nominated charities.

Ben Merrett, CEO of DEBRA, adds “After building an excellent relationship with Excelian in 2014, I’m delighted to see the two organisations working together again, leveraging the benefits of a long-term commitment and finding innovative and exciting ways for individuals to participate in corporate fundraising events and volunteering initiatives.”
The success of recent events has laid the foundation for what is expected to become a long and fruitful relationship between DEBRA and Excelian. Through the adoption of DEBRA as an official UK charity partner, Excelian looks forward to making an enduring impact on the lives of those affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa by helping to raise the funds required to find a permanent cure for the disease.
