When I think about Egypt, I think about more than just the pyramids or the timeless beauty of the Nile. For me, Egypt is a place where innovation thrives. It’s a country with immense potential that many businesses often overlook. As the Managing Director of DXC Luxoft Egypt, I’ve been lucky enough to witness firsthand how this country has transformed into a vibrant tech hub. Now I’d like to share this journey with you, describing the immense opportunities Egypt offers and explaining how DXC Luxoft’s presence here can be hugely beneficial for your business growth.

A hidden gem among the pyramids
What many people don’t realize is that Egypt is quickly becoming a thriving ecosystem for business and technology. DXC Luxoft recognized that potential and started out to uncover and harness it. We didn’t just stumble upon Egypt though; we chose this country strategically. Egypt’s close proximity to Europe, its robust talent pool and its supportive government policies make it an ideal location for business growth — with many benefits for our clients. When you join forces with DXC Luxoft in Egypt, you tap into these advantages.
A geographical and cultural bridge
One of Egypt’s greatest strengths is its geographical location. Situated just a stone’s throw from Europe, it offers businesses a logistical advantage that’s hard to ignore. Flights are quick, and the eVisa process is simple and efficient. Plus, with a time zone that’s only one hour ahead of central Europe, coordinating meetings and project timelines is easy and seamless.
But it’s not just about geography. Culturally, Egypt has a lot in common with Europe and other Western countries. This cultural alignment means fewer barriers and smoother communication, an aspect that greatly benefits operations and leads to deep business relationships around the world.
Unique weekend structure: A strategic advantage
Here’s something many people don’t realize about Egypt: The workweek runs from Sunday to Thursday. While it may sound like a minor detail, this gives us a unique operational edge. At DXC Luxoft, we use this to our clients’ advantage: When most European countries are off on Sundays, our teams in Egypt are already working. This allows us to address issues effectively, increase our testing coverage, conduct extended and comprehensive testing
and make adjustments in real-time, minimizing downtime. So, when you’re ready to tackle Monday morning, you’re given a head start with challenges already overcome and solutions ready for implementation. It’s like having an extra day in the week to ensure smooth delivery!
Highly skilled talent and attractive costs
What truly sets Egypt apart is its dynamic, youthful, multilingual and educated workforce. With over 730,000 university graduates each year, comprising 50% male and 50% female, many specializing in IT and engineering, Egypt has one of the largest, most diverse and affordable tech talent pools in the world, plus a very low work attrition rate. Seventy-five percent of graduates are under 40, bringing fresh perspectives and a drive to innovate.
At DXC Luxoft, we’ve built a team of highly skilled professionals, and we’re expanding fast. These young professionals bring a wealth of skills — ranging from software development and cybersecurity to design and testing — that we leverage to deliver top-tier services for our clients.
On top of that, Egypt stands out as an ideal delivery location to optimize costs and minimize risks. With its stable environment, low attrition rate and strategic advantages, Egypt offers a unique blend of low operational costs, favorable taxation and government incentives.

A government committed to growth
One of the things I appreciate most about Egypt is the government’s commitment to fostering growth in the tech industry. Through initiatives like the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Information Technology Institute (ITI), the Egyptian government is dedicating resources into education, training and infrastructure. With over 400,000 trainees from 2023/2024, the government isn’t just saying they want to attract global companies — they’re taking action.
At DXC Luxoft, we’ve collaborated closely with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT). This partnership has been instrumental in our success. It’s not just about getting support; it’s about being part of a larger vision for Egypt’s tech future, and it’s something that our clients can benefit from as well.
Quality without compromise
Egypt delivers high-quality services at competitive costs: Labor costs are significantly lower than in many other emerging markets, yet the quality remains exceptionally high. Add to that Egypt’s reliable infrastructure, and you have a winning formula.
Our Cairo office is located in the state-of-the-art Mivida compound and is TISAX level 3 certified. On top of that, we hold multiple certifications, including ISO 27001, 9001, and 14001. This means that not only do we offer competitive pricing, but we do so while adhering to the highest international standards.
A strategic focus on automotive and cybersecurity
Since establishing our presence in Egypt, DXC Luxoft has built a strong reputation, particularly in the automotive sector. We currently work with 19 clients, including 13 prestigious automotive OEMs. We’re not just offering general IT services; we’re specializing in cutting-edge areas like Android Automotive, system testing, in-vehicle platforms, and autonomous driving.
Cybersecurity is another area where we lead the way. Our Egypt office serves as a global hub for cybersecurity testing and compliance. In fact, we’re CSMS-certified by TÜV SÜD, which demonstrates our commitment to securing our clients’ data and systems. We’re also expanding our influence through initiatives like the Android Automotive Training Program, which aims to produce a new generation of certified Android Automotive professionals.

Leading the way in Android Automotive training
In July 2024 and in collaboration with ITIDA and the information technology institute (ITI), DXC Luxoft Egypt launched the Android Automotive Training Program. This cutting-edge initiative, featuring over 50 candidates, offers a comprehensive curriculum, designed to produce certified Automotive Android professionals. The program is at the forefront of the new trend in the automotive industry, focusing on intensive training in Android apps, framework, and platform.
A bright future for DXC Luxoft Egypt
