Luxoft Develops First ZigBee® Smart Energy™ Communication Module for Landis+Gyr

Moscow, New York, January 31, 2011Luxoft, a leading global provider of advanced application and product development services, today announced that it has created the market’s first ZigBee® Smart Energy™ wireless communication module for the E350 flex meter by Landis+Gyr, a global leader in energy management and advanced metering technology. By combining the quality and power of the Landis+Gyr E350 metering device with the easy-to-deploy ZigBee® Smart Energy™ communication protocol, Luxoft enables utility companies the ability to better-manage wireless devices at customer sites. As a result, utilities can significantly reduce operating costs and better-allocate resources during periods of fluctuations in energy consumption.

The utilities market is faced with a difficult balance between achieving efficient power generation and ever-increasing energy consumption. When combined with Luxoft’s professional services, the platform solution can be built to seamlessly integrate meter reading solutions, unify and visualize metering data, and, most importantly, enable the demand-side management for different Automated Meter Reading (AMR) systems, meters and communication platforms, already in place. Meters data is then collected from the wireless meters, transmitted to DRFusion through nearly any communication protocol and is stored in a middleware system for analysis. All the meter data from different data sources is collected and unified.
