Luxoft Launches New Test Automation Tool FITpro for Visual Studio.NET 0.5, Releases Next Version of FITpro for Eclipse

Luxoft Canada to Sponsor & Speak at Agile Vancouver 2007 Conference

Vancouver, British Columbia & Moscow, September 17, 2007 – Luxoft, Russia’s largest provider of high-end IT outsourcing services and product development to clients such as Deutsche Bank, IBM, UBS, T-Mobile and Ping Identity, today announced it will unveil a new software testing automation tool, FITpro for Visual Studio .NET 0.5 at the Agile Vancouver show, September 26 – 27 at the Plaza 500 Hotel.  Luxoft will also serve as a sponsor for the show and Luxoft Canada’s Director of Development Stephen Michaud will speak on increasing Agile’s prominence within organizations.

Available via Open Source, FITpro for Visual Studio .NET 0.5 makes acceptance testing easier and more efficient by providing a port to create, manage and execute tests when working on .NET projects within  the Microsoft Visual Studio integrated development environment (IDE), and leverages the powerful Open Source automated testing framework Fit.

Luxoft is also making the next version of FITpro for Eclipse, launched at last month’s Agile 2007 conference, now available via Open Source.

FITpro for Eclipse V1.0 is designed to make Fit testing even easier and faster as well as more integrated with development environments.  This version will feature a Fit Project Wizard with ready-to-execute examples, shortcuts to popular tasks, import capabilities for existing libraries of Fit tests in HTML or Excel formats, export of Fit tests for use with other systems, and a command line runner that allows tests, folders and suites to be integrated with automated build tools like Cruise Control.

Both versions of FITpro help improve collaboration and communication across development and business teams by allowing for co-definition of requirement terminology, testing of business rule compliance as well as technical logic, and creation of ready-to-use test specifications directly from business rules.  This makes development goals clear for all members of the team before a single line of code is written and makes FITpro a particularly ideal tool for the fast-paced, highly collaborative Agile software development approach. In addition to these Open Source Fit tools, Luxoft also provides Fit coaching and consulting services.

“FITpro for Eclipse has been very positively received since its launch last month and we’re pleased to be getting a version for the Visual Studio environment into the hands of developers so soon after,” said Michael Vax, head of Luxoft’s rapidly growing Vancouver office and member of the Agile Vancouver Alliance organizing committee. “By making software testing tools more efficient and integrated, the development process becomes increasingly streamlined. This is a win-win for developers and business people whether they be on the vendor or in-house side of the team.”
