Moscow, Russia – November 20, 2013 – Luxoft, a member of IBS Group and leading provider of software development services & innovative IT solutions to a global client base, announced today the launch of the first version of the automated document processing and printing system for ZAO "Bayer."

A joint team of Luxoft IT experts and ZAO "BAYER" specialists developed and implemented a new system for the automated processing and printing of documents from SAP using XSL-FO technology. Implementation of the new system allowed increasing the efficiency of development / modification of shipping documents templates and ensuring timely delivery of documents to end users. Compatibility with the centralized print server (FollowMe) provided the necessary level of protection of printed documents. The flexible path configurations, types of documents, and conversion templates; embedded in the architecture of the system allows the maintenance of product shipments via the system parameter tools by business users.

"Luxoft employees have extensive experience in implementing similar projects,” said Mikhail Bykov, Managing Director Manufacturing and Enterprise Solutions. "Through the use of existing developments in the form of multi-threaded server systems for document conversion in Java and ample visual client interfaces for C#, Bayer’s product shipment process was automated and the labour intensity of the process was reduced without a compromise of quality."

The implemented project allowed Luxoft team with the active support of business and technical representatives of ZAO "Bayer” to launch printing of the company’s shipping documents on time and with high quality, in accordance with the new requirements to the printing system. The transition to the new printing system was implemented with an optimal level of comfort for end users and with uninterrupted product shipment to the Russian market.

The system allowed automating business tasks of the staff from ZAO "BAYER" functional departments: 1) printing of shipping documents, 2) rapid transfer of information to ZAO "BAYER" contractors, and 3) completing and printing of certificates that accompany the shipment.

The project implementation enabled interaction with the complex solution FollowMe, which is used to provide access control and management of the printing process. The system was developed in Java and C# using XSL-FO technology.

The system reads the data from a source XML document and forms an output file in the specified format (PDF, XML, XSL, CSV) in accordance with the business process, and the final document is sent to recipients (user, external system, or printer) by the protocol specified by the path (FTP, FTP over HTTP, SMTP (email), or direct printing). The functionality of the system allows you to create a package of accompanying certificates for the shipment of goods from the warehouse based on the processing of data from the source XML and send the generated package (ZIP, PDF) to the recipient specified by the path.
