Speakers Explore Priorities, Critical Needs & Best Practices for ISVs
SAN JOSE, Calif. – September 25, 2007 – SDForum, Silicon Valley’s leading source of information and education in the technology community, today announced the panel “IT Outsourcing Today: What Matters the Most” to be held 8:00 am on Oct. 2nd at the Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP office in Palo Alto.
Expert panelists from industry leaders – Everest Research Institute, Luxoft, My Global Career, neoIT and Ping Identity Corporation – will discuss and debate key priorities, critical needs and best practices in IT outsourcing, as they pertain to the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) market.
Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the new research report, “2007 US ISV Market Report: Key factors in outsourcing,” which was sponsored by Luxoft, Russia’s largest provider of high-end IT outsourcing services and product development. Based on interviews with more than 200 decision-makers across the country, the report found that 94 percent of respondents outsourced part or all of their software development over the past 12 months.
“The need to reduce costs may be the initial reason companies consider outsourcing, but these days cost alone is not the most important determining factor. And it isn’t the most important factor for long-term, successful engagements for ISVs or outsourcing vendors. ISVs are not willing to trade off cost savings at the sacrifice of quality,” said Michael Vax, Chief Executive Officer, Luxoft Canada.
“Outsourcing is a fact of business for technology enterprises today, whatever their size. The new report provides insights into the market, including a better understanding of what drives the decision to outsource,” said Susan Lucas-Conwell, SDForum CEO. “We are pleased that leading experts from around the country have agreed to share their understanding and knowledge of outsourcing with participants here in Silicon Valley.”
Speakers at the event include:
• Dean Davison, Vice President, Research, neoIT
• Andre Durand, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ping Identity Corporation
• Ross Tisnovsky, Vice President, ITO Research, Everest Research Institute
• Michael Vax, Chief Executive Officer, Luxoft Canada
• Moderator: Rusty Weston, Founder & Chief Blogger, My Global Career
