Interoperability software challenges in the context of end-to-end digitalization
Nov 15, 2022
Revisit the panel on interoperability challenges during Energy Trading Week. Anthony Hammond, Luxoft’s Global Offering Lead for Trading as a Service, shares his insights on managing software interoperability, standardizing back-office processes and establishing cross-industry standards.
Managing communications in diverse ecosystems
Join Anthony as he breaks down the two key interoperability software approaches:
- Enabling a standard interface between two different applications
- Providing data access points
He will also explore the key interoperability challenges organizations are facing today:
- Ensuring platform interoperability for the legacy systems already in place as the greenfield approach isn’t optimal in most cases
- Missing standards in some areas while also having to follow too many standards in others
- Working with applications with disparate integration capabilities (e.g., some applications have a poor API capability)
Establishing flexible cross-industry standards
As the trading industry is continuously evolving (e.g., energy transition, certificates, PPAs), standardization – while necessary – has to allow for integration flexibility in end-to-end digitalization. With the current lack of standards, however, integration efforts have to counter multiple challenges that arise from no unified standards within the industry.
Watch the panel discussion to see experts weigh in on how to ensure cross-industry standards can remain flexible while also simplifying interoperability.
